The strategic double-laning of the National Highway 113 connecting Tezu directly to Hayuliang and onwards to Hawai has reached its final milestone. Spanning challenging mountain terrain, the project introduces heavy-duty retaining walls, landslide mitigation zones and widened curves to accommodate heavy cargo vehicles and public transport sumos.

This upgrade is expected to cut travel time from Tezu by nearly 1.5 hours and secure year-round transport reliability for the valley, which is crucial for local agriculture, tourism and essential healthcare transport.

Anjaw district is one of the largest producers of large cardamom. To support farmers, agricultural agencies have installed clean-energy solar drying chambers across key farming hubs in the Dalai valley.

Unlike traditional wood-fired drying kilns, solar dryers maintain the natural color and aroma of the cardamom pods, leading to higher grades and higher pricing in national wholesale markets while reducing local firewood logging.
